Galley Chef - Expedition Ship

About the role

Coral Expeditions, part of the NRMA Group, is looking for a Chef to run the galley on its small expedition ships. The chef manages the galley efficiently so that quality meals are delivered to guests and crew on time according to the menu plan. The position is based in Auckland and is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the galley efficiently and deliver quality meals to guests and crew on time, according to the menu plan.
• Maintain product quality, presentation, food safety and consistency.
• Demonstrate safe working practices.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Passport.
• Willingness to obtain, with employer support, AMSA maritime qualifications such as the AMSA endorsed Marine Cook Certificate, AMSA Medical, AMSA endorsed CoST, Crowd Control & Crisis Management and an Australian Seafarers book or equivalent discharge book.
• Tolerance of others to work and live in a small environment for long periods.
