Senior Analyst – Corporate Finance (Deals)

About the role

PwC is the leading M&A advisor in New Zealand and the only Big 4 firm with a fully integrated deals capability. The Corporate Finance (Deals) team in Auckland is looking for a Senior Analyst who will work on live buy‑side and sell‑side transactions, receive close Partner access and follow a clear pathway toward manager‑level responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Support buy‑side and sell‑side M&A transactions, including analysis, due diligence and execution activities.
• Build, review and own financial models and business valuations (DCF, trading and transaction comparables, scenario analysis).
• Prepare high‑quality client deliverables such as information memoranda, investment papers, valuation reports and board presentations.
• Analyse financial performance, growth drivers, risks and value‑creation opportunities to inform investment decisions and negotiation strategy.
• Manage transaction execution tasks, including data‑room administration, coordination with other advisors and responding to buyer/investor queries.
• Collaborate closely with Partners, Directors and Managers to deliver commercially robust, technically sound advice.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline (e.g., economics, mathematics, law, engineering).
• Experience in corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory or financial markets, preferably within a Big 4 or similar environment.
• Strong analytical capability and commercial judgement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills with proven experience building and reviewing financial models and valuations.
• Financial modelling and valuation techniques (DCF, comparables, scenario analysis).
