About the role
We are looking for a detail‑oriented Legal Administrator to join our immigration and legal operations team at NEL Firm in Auckland. The role will support the immigration practice by managing client engagements, handling documentation, and ensuring a seamless case workflow. You will work closely with lawyers and paralegals to maintain high standards of service and confidentiality.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the immigration team with client onboarding, document collection and case file management.
- Review and organise legal and immigration documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain confidential client information and ensure secure handling of sensitive data.
- Coordinate communication between clients, attorneys and external agencies.
- Support administrative processes such as scheduling, billing preparation and record keeping.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and contribute to process optimisation.
Required profile
- Previous experience in legal administration, legal secretary, paralegal, US immigration or a similar professional services environment (US legal experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Confidence handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Professional, proactive and client‑focused approach; experience with immigration or legal documentation is highly desirable.
