Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role

This role sits at the heart of commercial decision‑making for one of New Zealand’s largest fresh‑produce businesses. You will partner with sales, category, operations and finance leaders to turn data into insight that drives performance across NZ grower pools and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Partner closely with commercial leaders to deliver financial insight across sales, category and grower pools.
• Build and maintain monthly forecasts and reporting that support better commercial decisions.
• Analyse pricing, costs, margins and market performance to identify risks and opportunities.
• Reconcile complex financial information with absolute accuracy.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to help leaders understand trade‑offs before decisions are made.
• Support planning, forecasting and month‑end reporting cycles.
• Identify and drive simplification, automation and improvement of finance processes during the S/4HANA transition.

Required profile

• Commercially curious with confidence to challenge assumptions.
• Comfortable working through ambiguity, resilient and self‑driven.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and enjoys cross‑functional partnership.
• Motivated to continuously improve how work gets done.
• Approximately four or more years of experience in commercial finance, management accounting, FP&A or public practice.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (complex models, Power Query, pivot tables, large data volumes).
• Experience with SAP, S/4HANA or similar ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Power BI or comparable data‑visualisation tools.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with large, complex data sets.
