Support Worker - Nelson & Motueka (Part Time)

About the role

HealthCare NZ is a provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support, aiming to help people live as independently as possible. It is seeking part-time support workers in Nelson and Motueka who are available Monday to Sunday between 7.30am and 6.30pm and are flexible to travel around. Candidates must hold the right to work in New Zealand and be willing to undergo police vetting and additional checks.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients to live as independently as possible in their homes and community, following a care plan
• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal care such as showering and toileting
• Home management
• Hoisting

Required profile

• A desire to help and support others
• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous
• Most positions require a full New Zealand driver's licence and your own reliable transport
• Experience level: 0-1 years
