Support Worker - Nelson / Motueka

About the role

HealthCare NZ, a provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support, is seeking support workers based in Motueka, Riwaka, Lower Moutere, Richmond, Stoke and the surrounding woodlands. The role supports clients to live as independently as possible in their homes and community, following a care plan. Candidates must be available to the stated shifts and flexible to travel.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients to live independently within their homes and community, helping them achieve their goals
• Follow a care plan covering tasks such as meal preparation, community outings and integration, giving medication, personal care (showering, toileting) and home management
• Provide hoisting assistance

Required profile

• Desire to help and support others, with excellent communication skills
• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is advantageous
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous
• Full New Zealand driver's licence and own reliable transport (most positions)
• Right to work in New Zealand and willingness to undergo police vetting and additional checks

Shifts are Monday to Friday with alternate weekends, 8am to 12pm and 5pm to 9pm. The position is permanent and full-time, open to candidates with 0 to 1 year of experience.
