Software Development Engineer in Test

About the role

Trimble's Civil Construction Field Systems - Cloud Software team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test in Christchurch. The role ensures the quality of cloud products used by the global civil construction industry, working within an agile software delivery team to drive the highest product quality through automation and cloud hosting best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Pioneer and maintain robust automation tests and their deployment pipelines.
• Translate high-level marketing requirements into detailed, user-centric specifications and acceptance criteria for the development team.
• Execute comprehensive component and system testing throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Work daily with developers to report and resolve product defects.
• Drive continuous improvement of quality assurance and testing processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering or software testing.
• A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in a technical field such as software testing, engineering or computer science.
• Strong understanding of the software development process and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Effective verbal and written communication of complex technical issues.
• Bonus points for professional experience in the technology or communications industries, and knowledge of civil engineering or the civil construction industry.
