Lead Nurse – Regional Nurse Lead

About the role

NorthCare Medical Centres are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead and support nursing teams across three sites. The role blends clinical practice with people and business responsibilities, reporting to the Regional Business Manager and working closely with practice managers, GPs and wider staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff across all NorthCare locations.
• Strengthen systems, processes and service delivery to ensure high‑quality, whānau‑centred care.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives and service development.
• Participate in workforce planning, resource allocation and sustainability planning.
• Collaborate with practice managers and business leaders on operational and financial matters.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current annual practising certificate.
• Proven people‑leadership experience in a medical or primary‑care setting.
• Understanding of general practice operations, sustainability and efficient service delivery.
• Commitment to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Māori and cultural competency.
• Adaptable, approachable and able to thrive in a busy, team‑based environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PMS systems (Indici preferred).
• Strong competence in Microsoft Office applications.
• Independent vaccinator and cervical screening training (desirable).
