About the role

Reliance Utilities is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its Auckland team. The role focuses on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for small‑business clients, building relationships, and delivering utility cost‑saving solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the utility sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with small‑business clients.
  • Develop strategies that address customer needs and drive growth.
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights for decision‑making.
  • Negotiate contracts and advise clients on cost‑saving measures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored utility solutions.

Required profile

  • Strong sales and business development experience, including lead generation and client acquisition.
  • Experience in market analysis, contract negotiations, and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of utility brokerage or energy markets is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results‑driven mindset with a track record of meeting targets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field preferred.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and other business development tools.
