Professional Teaching Fellow – Chemistry (Part‑time, 20 hrs/week)

About the role

The School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Auckland is seeking a Professional Teaching Fellow to lead chemistry teaching for the Tertiary Foundation Certificate. This part‑time, permanent role (20 hours per week) is primarily based at the Tai Tonga campus with occasional duties at the City Campus. The position is teaching‑focused, with no research obligations, and aims to support student success and high‑quality curriculum delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, laboratory sessions and tutorials for foundation‑level chemistry courses.
• Develop, review and update curriculum and teaching materials in line with current chemical education practices.
• Assess student work, provide feedback and offer academic support and mentoring.
• Contribute to the overall teaching excellence of the School of Chemical Sciences.
• Participate in offshore teaching commitments, including travel to other countries as required.
