About the role
We are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Hotel Receptionist to join our Queenstown team. This hands‑on position goes beyond traditional front‑desk duties, offering a varied experience each day while supporting multiple areas of hotel operations.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver a great first impression to guests, handling check‑in/check‑out and reservations.
- Provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Manage administrative tasks such as phone calls, emails, guest inquiries, record‑keeping and payment processing.
- Address and resolve guest complaints promptly.
- Collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Monitor and report safety or security concerns.
- Assist housekeeping with room turnovers and maintain common‑area cleanliness.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, basic troubleshooting).
- Liaise with contractors for major maintenance issues.
Required profile
- At least 6 months of relevant experience or a Level 3 hospitality qualification (or overseas equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, school holidays and public holidays.
