Tax Manager / Associate Director (Hamilton)

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Associate Director to join its Hamilton office. You will lead a portfolio of diverse clients, ranging from SMEs to large multinational corporations, and help them navigate complex tax matters while contributing to the growth of the Hamilton team.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of business tax matters, from compliance to strategic planning.
• Prepare and review income tax provisions for financial statement reporting.
• Assist clients in resolving tax disputes and applying current and pending tax legislation.
• Deliver exceptional client service, driving high performance and fostering collaboration.
• Act as a role model, recognising and developing high‑performing team members.
• Influence clients and colleagues positively, building confident relationships.
• Improve work efficiency and client service through the use of technology tools.

Required profile

• Broad knowledge of New Zealand tax law and practice.
• 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and advisory.
• Professional accounting qualification.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end tax processes within the NZ environment.
• Proven leadership, management and team‑player abilities.
• Results‑driven, client‑oriented mindset with a flair for business development.
