Services Team Leader

About the role

As the Services Team Leader at Silver Fern Farms Finegand, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all critical site services, including boilers, refrigeration, wastewater and water‑treatment systems. You will lead a dedicated services team, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure compliance with environmental, engineering and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Services team.
• Plan and execute scheduled and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Maintain safe, compliant and reliable operation of all site service assets.
• Monitor and report on environmental consents and engineering standards.
• Oversee sampling, auditing, reporting and liaison with council authorities.
• Manage budgets, workload allocation, timesheets, training plans and rosters.
• Support project planning, plant shutdowns and execution.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and participate in root‑cause investigations.
• Manage contractor performance and site activities.

Required profile

• Trade qualification or engineering background.
• Experience in services operations or maintenance planning, preferably with boilers, refrigeration, wastewater or water‑treatment systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
• Proven leadership capability, including coaching and developing team members.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused attitude with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
