Meat Processing Team Member (Balclutha)

About the role

Our Silver Fern Farms Finegand Processing Site in Balclutha employs over 1,200 team members at peak season. We are a family‑oriented, diverse team that values caring, teamwork and continuous improvement. The role offers on‑the‑job training and pathways into food safety, health & safety, HR and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Work 40 hours per week during peak production, with 8‑hour day or afternoon shifts (6 am‑4 pm or 4 pm‑12:30 am).
• Follow health and safety, quality and technical compliance requirements, including use of provided work clothing and safety gear.

Required profile

• No prior experience required – full training is provided.
• Positive, hardworking attitude and ability to work closely with others.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand and at least 18 years old.
• Pass pre‑employment medical, drug test, criminal check and physical fitness requirements.

Required skills

• Knife skills.
• Trimming skills.
• Current forklift licence.
