Senior Associate - Litigation

About the role

Anthony Harper, a law firm with offices in Tāmaki Makaurau and Ōtautahi, is looking for a Senior Associate to deliver high-quality litigation and dispute resolution services to businesses and individuals. Working closely with partners, you will advise on complex commercial disputes and represent clients in public law disputes, regulatory matters and company governance conflicts.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on complex commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, insolvency issues, breach of trust claims, cross-border disputes and urgent applications for relief
• Manage files from an early stage through to resolution
• Undertake legal research and prepare pleadings and court documentation
• Manage discovery processes
• Provide clear, commercially focused advice
• Lead matters, appear in courts and tribunals and build strong client relationships

Required profile

• Experienced litigation lawyer admitted to practice in New Zealand
• Around eight or more years of post-qualification experience with a strong background in general litigation
• Confident working independently and in a collaborative team
• Builds trusted relationships with clients and colleagues and communicates complex issues clearly
• Motivated to take ownership of matters, contribute to business development and grow within a leading litigation practice
