Product Safety & Compliance Engineer

About the role

Fisher & Paykel is looking for a Product Safety and Compliance Engineer in Auckland. You will sit at the front end of the product development process with the PD team, making sure products are inherently safe and meet the required safety standards and regulatory requirements so they can be sold in many global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of appliance regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate testing with internal and external test laboratories for a range of appliances, and sometimes lead the internal testing yourself.
• Liaise with, train and support product development teams, third-party manufacturers and suppliers.
• Act as the link between these groups and the regulatory authorities and test laboratories.

Required profile

• Ideally a degree in electrical, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or science.
• At least three years of experience honing your skills.
• Natural organisation, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication and reading comprehension.
• Ability to interpret a variety of safety and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical and gas testing of products or environmental compliance is an advantage.
