Principal Transport Planner

About the role
The Principal Transport Planner will lead integrated transport planning initiatives for major infrastructure projects. This senior position reports to the Transport Planning team and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver evidence‑based investment cases.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to strategic transport planning across projects and programmes.
- Own transport outcomes for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with policy and investment objectives.
- Represent the agency as a client, directing the work of internal and external transport planning teams.
- Manage professional services suppliers and review outputs with subject‑matter experts.
- Support practice improvement and mentor junior team members.
Required profile
- Extensive experience as a transport planner with a strong understanding of project development and investment case principles.
- Proven project leadership, high delivery focus and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to navigate legislative processes and political drivers to achieve outcomes.
- Growth mindset with demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Holder or candidate for CTPP chartership.
Required skills
- CTPP chartership (or working towards it).

- Base salary ranging from $142,000 to $156,000 per year.
