Kairīwhi (Reliever) – Early Learning Centre

About the role

Te Puna Reo Ōkahukura, an early learning centre established by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei in 2007, is looking for caring, reliable and reo Māori-minded people to join its whānau as Kairīwhi (reliever). It is a casual position supporting the kaiako and tamariki as and when needed. The centre is licensed for 45 children, teaches through kaupapa Māori worldviews and offers 20 hours for children aged 3 and older.

Key responsibilities

• Support the kaiako and tamariki as and when needed in a casual capacity
• Contribute to a kaupapa Māori early childhood education environment

Required profile

• Qualified or unqualified; all are welcome, including those in their third year of ECE study
• Basic understanding of te reo Māori, with a strong willingness to learn more; fluency is a definite advantage
• Right to work in New Zealand
• Must pass pre-employment checks, including a safety check
