Head of Finance Strategy Execution (12‑month contract)

About the role

Lead the transformation of Finance for a major banking group operating in New Zealand and Australia. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will drive the delivery of the Group’s finance strategy and oversee a portfolio of enterprise‑wide transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance transformation portfolio, aligning programmes with strategic objectives.
• Partner with the CFO and Finance Leadership Team to shape and execute the finance strategy roadmap.
• Provide end‑to‑end oversight of multiple concurrent transformation initiatives, ensuring proper governance, resourcing and regulatory compliance.
• Establish robust governance, reporting and performance frameworks, managing programme risks and dependencies.
• Drive modernisation initiatives such as automation, process optimisation and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Coordinate finance participation in enterprise‑wide projects, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.

Required profile

• Commercially minded senior finance leader with a strong strategic orientation.
• Experience operating at the intersection of strategy, transformation, governance and execution.
• Proven ability to partner with executive leaders and deliver large‑scale organisational change.
• Comfort with complex regulatory environments and cross‑border operations.
