Commercial Finance Business Analyst

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a Commercial Finance Business Analyst to join its national Finance team in Auckland. You will work closely with the Technology & Transformation business unit, providing financial insight and stewardship for client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support preparation and reporting of management accounts.
• Maintain commercial models for client projects and perform billing reconciliations.
• Provide budgeting, forecasting, modelling and financial reporting for project‑based activities.
• Track project milestones, manage expenditure, monitor financial risks and ensure policy compliance.
• Apply revenue recognition principles accurately.
• Establish and report on project KPIs to drive performance improvements.
• Identify and implement process improvements in project accounting.
• Support engagement teams with reconciliations, billing milestones and executive updates.
• Assist with monthly account reviews, yearly planning and quarterly forecasting updates.
• Maintain client and engagement information, manage invoices and resolve billing discrepancies.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in project finance or commercial finance environments.
