Accountant – Hotel Finance Hub

About the role

Join the Auckland Finance Hub of a leading hospitality group and support the daily operations of the finance department across the CP Hotels portfolio. You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth month‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Controller with daily finance operations and preparation of portfolio‑wide journal entries.
• Develop, monitor and improve financial systems and procedures for the hotel.
• Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports on time.
• Handle cash procedures, raise on‑charge invoices and oversee payroll journal processing.
• Prepare and lodge monthly and annual payroll tax returns and GST filings.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and end‑of‑month journal entries, including budget provisions and accruals.
• Support the preparation of detailed monthly forecasts.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business or Accounting.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a hotel accountant or in a comparable accounting role.
• Strong ability to manage large workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills to convey accounting information across all business levels.

Required skills

• Advanced computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of SUN accounting systems (highly advantageous).
