Technical Lead (.NET) - Hybrid

About the role

Datacom is looking for a Senior Full Stack .NET Developer to take on a Tech Lead role in its Christchurch office. The position sits in a hybrid team of software developers and business analysts working on challenging projects, including AI-driven ones. The Tech Lead provides technical direction and decision-making to client and internal teams and works with stakeholders to deliver a high-quality experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy applications for customers using modern .NET technologies, with a focus on scalability and performance
• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and tailor solutions to real-world business challenges
• Provide technical advice and consultancy to customers
• Take accountability for the technical experience and outcomes
• Stay current with tech trends, models and tools and bring innovative ideas into solution design
• Help establish best practices, frameworks and reusable components
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on user-facing tools and APIs
• Ensure systems meet agreed budgets, timeframes and design and security standards

Required profile

• Experience in a Senior Developer or Tech Lead role
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in a customer-facing context
• Open mind and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
• Willingness to explore the potential of AI solutions in software development

Required skills

• .NET Framework/Core, ASP.NET and C#
• RESTful API design and development
• Front-end skills such as React, Angular, HTML and CSS
• Database design and management (SQL Server, MySQL)
• Azure cloud platforms (or equivalent)
• Nice to have: Entity Framework, CI/CD pipelines, Azure Integration Services, AI tooling, unit and integration testing
