Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Entain is looking for a Senior QA Engineer in Auckland on a full-time hybrid basis. The role embeds quality into how products are designed and built, coaching teams and shaping decisions early, and helps shape how AI is applied in testing and quality engineering. It sits at the centre of a shift toward modern quality engineering, moving teams from traditional testing models to a quality-first mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Lead test strategy across complex products, balancing unit, integration, end-to-end and non-functional testing
• Embed a shift-left approach by influencing requirements, design and acceptance criteria, and coach teams to share ownership of quality
• Identify risks early, drive effective defect triage and guide teams toward preventative solutions
• Improve testing frameworks and automation approaches for API, mobile and frontend environments, using AI-supported techniques to boost efficiency and insight

Required profile

• Strong QA fundamentals and proven experience defining test strategy, assessing risk and making pragmatic trade-offs in complex, scalable environments
• Hands-on experience testing complex systems, including API and native mobile or similar high-traffic applications
• Demonstrated ability to embed quality early and influence requirements, design and delivery across the full lifecycle
• Ability to coach and influence developers and cross-functional teams, with strong communication skills and technical fluency on architecture, automation and engineering practices

Required skills

• Nice to have: familiarity with Playwright or similar tools
• Nice to have: experience contributing to quality transformation or embedding QA practices in product-led environments
• Nice to have: exposure to AI tools in testing or quality engineering
