Senior Analyst – Deals Strategy (Commercial Due Diligence)

About the role

Pwc’s Deals Strategy team is looking for a Senior Analyst to support commercial due‑diligence and value‑creation projects across New Zealand and the wider Trans‑Tasman market. You will work with a high‑performing team delivering insights that help clients evaluate investment hypotheses and shape strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of commercial due‑diligence and value‑creation engagements for corporate, private‑equity and public‑sector clients.
• Conduct primary and secondary research, including market sizing, competitor benchmarking and customer insights using online tools and proprietary databases.
• Develop structured analyses such as financial and operational assessments and translate findings into clear client deliverables.
• Prepare reports, presentations and discussion materials for senior client stakeholders.
• Coordinate with team members, mentor junior analysts where appropriate and foster a collaborative environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a global or boutique strategy house, or in a strategy/M&A function within a large corporation.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to structure and convey insights clearly.
