Deals Strategy Manager

About the role

Join PwC New Zealand as a Deals Strategy Manager and lead a market‑leading team delivering commercial due diligence and value‑creation strategies for a diverse client base across New Zealand, Trans‑Tasman and global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for projects covering commercial due diligence and value creation.
• Develop and apply frameworks for primary research and lead desktop industry and market analysis using online tools, proprietary databases and public sources.
• Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Prepare client deliverables such as reports, presentations and discussion packs.
• Build client relationships, share knowledge and mentor junior team members.
• Coach and develop junior colleagues to support their professional growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience in a global or boutique strategy house, or in a strategy/M&A function within a large corporation.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven client‑management skills and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Confidence applying analysis techniques such as market sizing, forecasting, competitor dynamics, customer analysis, business‑plan reviews and growth analysis.
• Ability to multitask and balance complex activities effectively.
• Experience coaching others and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
