Salesforce Technical Consultant

About the role

Datacom, a leading technology provider in Australasia, is hiring a Salesforce Technical Consultant for its Wellington office. The role provides technical leadership across Salesforce platform delivery, solution design, integration, automation and operational excellence, combining hands-on expertise with consulting and solution architecture. It is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position open only to citizens and residents of New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, configuration, testing and deployment of Salesforce solutions in complex customer environments.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on platform capabilities, custom development, integrations and automation.
• Work with customers, project managers, business analysts and stakeholders to turn requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Produce technical designs, architecture recommendations and implementation plans.
• Design and deliver integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications using APIs and integration platforms.
• Support operational excellence through platform optimisation, performance tuning and enhancements.
• Contribute to solution governance, technical standards and the Salesforce platform roadmap.
• Mentor team members, promote security, compliance and data integrity, and follow Datacom health and safety policies.

Required profile

• 3+ years of Salesforce consulting, development or technical delivery experience.
• Proven experience delivering complex Salesforce implementations and enhancements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Technical leadership experience in complex customer environments.
• Nice to have: Salesforce Platform Developer I or II, Administrator or Advanced Administrator, or Application Architect certification; experience in enterprise or government environments; mentoring experience.

Required skills

• Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and platform capabilities.
• Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows and Salesforce integrations.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise applications and third-party platforms.
• Nice to have: MuleSoft or other integration platforms, DevOps and CI/CD, Agile, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud or Data Cloud.
