Project Manager - Commercial Construction

About the role

Apollo Projects, a nationwide design and build construction company, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team in Hawke's Bay. Primarily based in Hawke's Bay and reporting to the Construction Director, you will take a project from early design through to practical completion, working on behalf of the client in a very hands-on project management role.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee cost control management, including budget setup, keeping costs under control at all times
• Develop programmes in collaboration with site teams, subcontractors and consultants
• Help manage procurement and contract management alongside the project team
• Build a collaborative relationship with the client, consultants, subcontractors and colleagues
• Contribute proactively to on-site health and safety strategies, making safety a high priority

Required profile

• Minimum of 7+ years' experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction in New Zealand, preferably in design and build
• Excellent commercial construction knowledge and an action-oriented approach
• Effective, collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to motivate construction teams
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Previous design and build experience is advantageous
• Willingness to travel Monday to Friday after project completion if required

Required skills

• Confident with the full Microsoft Office suite and navigation of MS Project
• Experience with Procore and Jobpac is an advantage
