Mechanical Trade Assistant

About the role

A busy industrial maintenance team in Taupoe is looking for a reliable and motivated Mechanical Trade Assistant. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople on mechanical maintenance, shutdown, fabrication and plant repair projects across industrial sites. The position is a fixed-term contract with an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Assist mechanical fitters with maintenance and repair work
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Install, assemble and dismantle equipment
• Carry out general workshop and site-based duties
• Keep the workplace clean and safe
• Perform manual handling and lifting as required

Required profile

• Previous experience in a mechanical, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or TA role
• Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Reliable transport and a positive attitude

Required skills

• Experience using hand and power tools
• Good mechanical aptitude
