Print Assistant / Machine Operator

About the role

Reporting to the Printing Supervisor, you will work alongside a qualified printer at a large manufacturing site in Hornby, Christchurch, producing high-quality goods. You will assist the qualified printers by operating the printing press and collecting and relocating the ink. The role is long-term, with full training provided, and suits someone with above-average mechanical aptitude who is keen to learn and progress.

Shifts and pay

• Pay of $26.28 per hour plus a daily shift allowance of $18.99
• Time and a half and double time depending on days and times worked
• 8-hour rotating shifts: day (Mon-Fri 06:00-14:00), afternoon (Mon-Fri 14:00-22:00) and night (Sun-Thu 22:00-06:00)

Required profile

• Experience in machine operation preferred
• Good numeracy and literacy, and strong mechanical competency
• Reliable transport to and from work
• Positive attitude, adaptable and able to learn new systems
• Attention to detail, teamwork and planning skills
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and has no criminal convictions
