Experienced Support Worker - Rangiora (Permanent Part-Time)

About the role

HealthCare NZ is seeking an experienced Support Worker to support a client living in Rangiora. The role is permanent part-time, with a roster of Saturday and Sunday shifts in week 1 (07:00 AM to 03:00 PM) and Sunday only in week 2. The work follows a care plan and supports clients to live as independently as possible in their home and community.

Key responsibilities

• Meal preparation and community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal care such as showering and toileting
• Home management
• Hoisting and catheter care (emptying catheters every 3 hours or when full, and changing night bags)
• Passive exercises

Required profile

• Full New Zealand driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Right to work in New Zealand and willingness to undergo police vetting and additional checks
• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is advantageous
• Level 3 or 4 healthcare qualification is advantageous

Required skills

• Level 3 or 4 qualified hoist training
• Catheter care
• Familiarity with passive exercises
• Excellent communication skills
