About the role

Tranzit is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead its Central team, overseeing more than 100 drivers across Whanganui, Ohakune, and Taumarunui. The role is fast‑moving, requiring real‑time decision‑making, problem‑solving, and people support to keep school runs, urban services, and charters operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a positive, practical Health & Safety culture.
• Maintain daily operations with clockwork precision.
• Lead, mentor, and support a large, diverse driver team.
• Manage rosters, fleet allocation, and service delivery.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Calm under pressure and able to think on your feet.
• Proven leadership experience in operations.
• Knowledge of the transport industry.
• Organised, practical, and people‑focused.
• Confidence using systems and adapting to new technology.
