Court Registry Officer

About the role

The Court Registry Officer supports the smooth operation of the Hamilton District Court. Working closely with judges, jurors and court staff, you will ensure that court proceedings run efficiently and that all parties receive the information they need.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate court taking, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori, managing jurors and handling courtroom administration.
• Oversee case management by providing judges and parties with accurate case information and coordinating logistics for timely hearings.
• Deliver customer service to the public via face‑to‑face, phone and email interactions on court‑related matters.
• Travel within the Waikato courts as required, holding a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented and observant, ensuring accuracy in all court processes.
• Self‑aware and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of multitasking and managing conflicting priorities.
• Eager to learn and adapt to changing legislation and procedures.
• Resilient when handling sensitive cases and high‑volume periods.
