Court Registry Officer

About the role

The Court Registry Officer supports the smooth operation of the North Shore District Court in Auckland. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will interact with judges, lawyers, and the public while handling a variety of administrative and customer‑facing tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Case management – maintain accurate case files, perform data entry and make sound decisions to keep records up to date.
• Court taking – open court sessions in English and Te Reo Māori, assist judges in the courtroom and chambers, and manage general court administration.
• Customer service – respond to enquiries face‑to‑face, by phone or email, providing clear information on court processes.

Required profile

• Resilient when dealing with sensitive cases and high‑volume work.
• Detail‑oriented and observant to ensure accurate case information.
• Self‑aware and able to communicate with diverse customers positively.
• Capable of multitasking and shifting quickly between repetitive and priority tasks.
• Eager to learn and adapt to changing legislation and procedures.
• Excellent communicator with strong English skills and confident Te Reo Māori pronunciation; comfortable using audio‑visual equipment.
• Helpful, flexible and calm in a busy courtroom environment.
