About the role
The Hearing Manager will support the New Zealand Parole Board by ensuring parole hearings run smoothly and accurately. Based in Wellington’s CBD, you will work closely with Board members, panel convenors, victims, and other stakeholders to deliver high‑quality hearing services.
Key responsibilities
- Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up‑to‑date and compliant.
- Coordinate and facilitate parole hearings both in‑person at prison sites and via Microsoft Teams from the Board offices.
- Liaise with victims, Board members, counsel, and other stakeholders, providing clear and empathetic communication.
- Maintain confidential information with a high level of integrity.
- Prioritise and juggle repetitive processes while meeting strict deadlines.
Required profile
- Resilience when dealing with sensitive and difficult situations.
- Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage conflicting priorities.
- High integrity and discretion in handling confidential data.
- Willingness to stay current with relevant legislation and Board policies.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
