Training Lead (12‑month contract)

About the role

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a Training Lead on a 12‑month contract to design, deliver and manage a comprehensive training programme for FY26 and FY27. The role will ensure training needs are identified, content is sourced and created, and users are supported throughout the change journey.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business, technical and operational leaders to capture training needs and define personas.
• Collaborate with Programme Delivery Leads to align training priorities with the overall delivery schedule.
• Work with implementation partners to review and design training content for each persona.
• Write and maintain a detailed Training Plan covering objectives, approach, responsibilities, phases and timings.
• Facilitate the development, compilation and scheduling of university, online and classroom training materials.
• Oversee delivery of training sessions and assess trainee competency against agreed outcomes.
• Provide post‑training support during warranty/hyper‑care phases and arrange additional training if required.
• Coordinate closely with the Learning & Development team to ensure consistency with standards and tools.

Required profile

• Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders across business, technical and operational areas.
• Experience in aligning training activities with large‑scale programme delivery schedules.
• Strong capability to develop detailed training plans and documentation.
• Ability to coordinate content creation, scheduling and delivery of diverse training formats.
• Competence in assessing learning outcomes and providing ongoing support.
