About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Programme Manager to join our sKids team at the Papatoetoe South site. Working primarily in the afternoons, you will help create safe, fun and engaging after‑school experiences for children.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Programme Manager in daily operations and step in as second‑in‑command when required.
- Lead and supervise large groups of tamariki during arts, crafts, sports, games and off‑site trips.
- Apply positive behaviour guidance strategies and manage challenging situations.
- Guide Programme Assistants, ensuring activities run smoothly and expectations are met.
- Communicate clearly with parents, caregivers and school staff.
- Assist with set‑up, pack‑down and preparation of resources for each session.
Required profile
- Legal right to work in New Zealand (visa or citizenship).
- Reliable transport to the Papatoetoe South location.
- Experience working with children in settings such as childcare, coaching, camps or teaching.
- Ability to take initiative, lead when needed and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults.
- Age 20 years or older.
