Support Worker – Part‑time (Horowhenua/Kapiti/Mana)

About the role

IDEA Services is looking for compassionate part‑time Support Workers to assist adults with intellectual disabilities across Levin, Paraparaumu, Porirua and Tawa. You will help individuals develop independence and daily living skills while working a flexible mix of daytime, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with transportation, employment activities, finances and shopping.
• Support meal preparation, cleaning, personal hygiene and showering.
• Administer medication safely and follow care plans.
• Provide physical support and respond to challenging situations with resilience.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and strong desire to build a career in disability support.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep‑over assignments.
• Physical fitness to perform manual assistance tasks.
• Full NZ driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficient use of computers and tablets for daily documentation.

• Hourly rate $24.68‑$30.13 (NZD) depending on qualifications.
