Solution Architect (Hybrid, Auckland)

About the role

This is a strategic Solution Architect position within a global SaaS organisation that powers customer engagement and loyalty experiences for world‑recognised brands. Based in Auckland CBD with a hybrid work model, you will sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering and Architecture, shaping technology decisions and guiding the evolution of a large‑scale platform used by hundreds of millions of consumers.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define technology strategy and roadmap.
• Lead architectural thinking from problem discovery through to solution delivery.
• Provide guidance on cloud‑native, distributed systems and integration solutions.
• Identify risks, trade‑offs and opportunities early in the development lifecycle.
• Define architectural guardrails, standards and best practices.
• Influence senior stakeholders and challenge thinking to achieve better outcomes.
• Help shape AI‑assisted engineering and architecture practices.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Cloud and Engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure and fit for purpose.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience as a Solution, Platform or Software Architect.
• Strong background designing web‑based backend and integration solutions.
• Experience designing cloud‑native, distributed systems in modern cloud environments.
• Previous software engineering or development experience.
• Proven ability to partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Pragmatic approach balancing long‑term vision with business realities.
