Datacenter IT Technician Trainee (6 months)

About the role

Join Amazon's Data Centre Operations team in Auckland as a Datacenter IT Technician Trainee. Over a six‑month period you will gain hands‑on experience maintaining some of the world’s largest computing infrastructure while developing core technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot hardware and related issues.
• Conduct basic operating system and configuration troubleshooting.
• Replace faulty hardware components and execute storage media sanitisation.
• Prioritise and resolve trouble tickets to maintain high system reliability.
• Follow data‑center, logistics, security and safety processes and guidelines.
• Collaborate with logistics, networking and security teams to complete tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in computer hardware or network troubleshooting and repair.
• Physical ability to lift and rack equipment using lifting tools.
• Valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle for site travel.
• Commitment to a six‑month trainee contract with coaching and assessments.
