Software Engineer - React

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer (React) to join our Digital Frontend squad, delivering modern customer experiences for a leading New Zealand bank. The role is open to graduate, junior or intermediate engineers who are passionate about frontend development and want to grow their React expertise in a product‑led environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer‑facing UI applications using React.
• Integrate frontend components with backend APIs and services.
• Support and evolve a legacy internet banking platform while simplifying its architecture.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams following Agile practices.
• Ensure code quality, accessibility and responsive design across devices.

Required profile

• Graduate, junior or intermediate level with a strong interest in frontend development.
• Problem‑solving mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work effectively within a cross‑functional team.
• Quality‑focused with an interest in testing and maintainable code.

Required skills

• React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, component‑based design.
• Understanding of responsive UI and accessibility principles.
• Experience with APIs and backend integration.
• Version control using Git and familiarity with Agile ways of working.
