Senior Technical Project Manager

About the role

As a Senior Technical Project Manager at Unispace in Auckland, you will own complex workplace design and delivery projects from pre‑construction through to handover. You will ensure financial success, client satisfaction and adherence to Unispace’s methodology while bridging design, delivery and client relations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple interior office fit‑out and design‑and‑build projects of varying size and complexity, overseeing pre‑construction planning to project commencement.
• Develop cost plans, budgets and forecasts in partnership with senior leadership and principals.
• Negotiate, procure and select subcontractors, ensuring quality, cost alignment and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Manage estimating, budgeting, financial reporting and cash‑flow to meet profitability targets.
• Collaborate across strategy, client relations, business development, design, marketing and delivery teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Lead and develop high‑performing pre‑construction teams, fostering innovation and alignment with Unispace values.
• Maintain clear client and stakeholder communication, monitor documentation quality and schedule compliance.
• Implement best‑practice processes and contribute to corporate responsibility initiatives and industry events.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering commercial interior office fit‑outs or complex design‑and‑build projects.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, health & safety regulations, procurement methods and construction processes.
• Experience leading multiple pre‑construction teams concurrently, including pitches and procurement.
• Excellent negotiation skills with subcontractors and suppliers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating software.
• Experience using financial management platforms for budgeting and forecasting.
