Senior Manager Data Risk

About the role

The Senior Manager, Data Risk will lead ANZ’s first‑line data risk function, partnering with technology, data and business teams to identify, assess and mitigate data risks across end‑to‑end value chains. You will embed sustainable data controls, strengthen governance and provide risk insights that support safe, reliable data use throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage data risk assessments across systems, processes and value chains.
• Partner with business and technology teams to design, uplift and embed sustainable data controls.
• Influence implementation of enterprise data risk management frameworks.
• Strengthen data governance, including data quality, lineage, capture controls and accountability.
• Identify, triage and resolve data quality issues with data and technology teams.
• Support regulatory and policy change through impact assessments and implementation.
• Review control design, identify gaps and manage remediation activities.
• Provide risk insights, thematic analysis and materials for governance forums and senior management.
• Leverage analytics, indicators and emerging trends to enhance risk monitoring.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in data risk, data governance or related risk management within a financial services environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience delivering risk insights to senior leadership.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex risk concepts into actionable controls.
