Senior Group Accountant

About the role

RCR Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Group Accountant to own the Group’s financial reporting and provide commercial insight across the business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead core accounting functions while partnering with operational teams to support decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end month‑end close process.
• Prepare consolidated group financial reports.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain general‑ledger integrity.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and ensure audit readiness.
• Lead and coordinate external audit activities.
• Oversee GST, FBT and income‑tax compliance with external advisors.
• Improve financial controls, processes and reporting integrity.
• Support management reporting, including variance analysis.
• Partner with operational teams to deliver financial insights.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) and minimum 5 years’ experience in a complex or multi‑entity environment.
• Strong technical accounting experience with IFRS, NZ GAAP, consolidations and statutory reporting.
• Proven experience leading external audits and managing tax compliance.
• Commercial mindset with ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

Required skills

• Strong ERP and financial systems experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Technical expertise in IFRS and NZ GAAP.
• Experience with consolidations, statutory reporting and audit coordination.
• Tax compliance knowledge (GST, FBT, income tax).
