Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role

This newly shaped position blends financial reporting with commercial finance, giving you a high‑impact role that directly influences decision‑making across a large, asset‑intensive organisation in Wellington. You will work closely with operational and project teams, providing insight on capital projects, investment decisions and business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Month‑end, half‑year and year‑end reporting, including financial statements, reconciliations and board‑level outputs.
• Cash‑flow and treasury analysis.
• Partner with stakeholders on capital projects, investment decisions and work‑in‑progress (WIP) management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business‑case development.
• Develop commercial insights and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.
• Identify risks, opportunities and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• CA qualified or close to completion.
• Strong grounding in financial reporting and accounting fundamentals.
• Confidence working with non‑finance stakeholders and translating numbers into commercial insight.
• Proactive, curious mindset with the ability to challenge and add value.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel capability.
• Experience with Power BI or other analytics tools (bonus).
