Project Manager – Civil Earthworks (Waihi Beach/Tauranga)

About the role

ConsultANZ is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead large‑scale civil earthworks and infrastructure projects in the Waihi Beach/Tauranga region of New Zealand. The role involves overseeing technically challenging works with a strong pipeline of long‑term projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project delivery from planning through to completion.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Drive programmes to ensure safe, efficient, on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
• Oversee bulk earthworks operations in challenging ground and weather conditions.
• Manage plant productivity, sequencing and earthmoving methodologies.
• Monitor performance, costs, risks and reporting requirements.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high‑quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale civil earthworks projects.
• Strong technical understanding of bulk earthworks and heavy machinery operations.
• Ability to manage projects in difficult ground conditions and demanding environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Civil engineering qualification or equivalent is highly regarded.
