Production Operator – Manufacturing (Otahuhu)

About the role

Join the bedding production team at Sleepyhead’s Otahuhu facility. You will work on a variety of hands‑on tasks, from handling raw materials to operating machinery that creates mattresses and other bedding products. Full training is provided and you will rotate through multiple work centres to become a multi‑skilled operator.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual production tasks and operate machinery in line with safety and quality standards.
• Follow operational and safety procedures for all production activities.
• Ensure raw materials and finished goods meet quality specifications and complete quality checks.
• Maintain accurate production records and housekeeping standards.
• Report hazards, equipment breakdowns, and non‑conformances promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training and occupational health and safety improvement activities.
• Assist with other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Motivated, reliable team player who enjoys hands‑on work.
• Comfortable with manual handling and physical work.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to safety and quality.
• Willing to learn and work across multiple production areas.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Manufacturing experience is an advantage but not essential.

Required skills

• Forklift licence (advantageous for some positions).
