Manufacturing Engineering Technician

About the role

At ABB Smart Power, the Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports the production of advanced power‑conditioning products. The role ensures that active products meet quality, cost and capacity standards while collaborating with R&D, Agile, Supply Chain and Production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage engineering changes for active products, maintaining accurate 3D models, schematics, BOMs and assembly procedures.
• Translate R&D developments into market‑ready, mass‑production‑capable specifications.
• Lead problem‑solving investigations together with Quality and Process teams.
• Provide hands‑on support to production lines, keeping assembly and packaging instructions up‑to‑date.
• Maintain documentation control to ensure efficient manufacturing and product reliability.
• Assemble prototypes and test emerging design concepts for new product development.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately across technical tasks.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with SAP and exposure to power electronics equipment is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D modelling using SolidWorks or similar software.
• Competence with 2D drafting tools such as AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with SAP.
