Open Pit Mine Operator – 12hr Roster in Otago

About the role

This position supports gold production targets by operating heavy machinery in an open‑pit environment. You will join a shift crew on a 12‑hour roster, alternating between day and night shifts, and enjoy a residential lifestyle in Otago.

Key responsibilities

• Operate large mining vehicles within the open‑pit operation.
• Perform pre‑start and shutdown checks on all equipment to maintain high safety standards.
• Load and transport rock to the processing plant.
• Work collaboratively as a crew member, communicating with mine workers and contractors.
• Maintain housekeeping of vehicles and loading areas.

Required profile

• Unrestricted New Zealand work rights or a valid visa.
• Full, clean, current driver’s licence and confidence driving a manual vehicle.
• Strong communication skills within a team environment.
• High interest in heavy machinery and a safety‑conscious mindset.
• Pass a pre‑employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
