Lead Water Engineer

About the role

Aurecon’s Water team is seeking a Lead Water Engineer to drive the delivery of major transmission pipelines and pump‑station projects for key water utility clients across New Zealand. You will provide technical leadership from feasibility through detailed design, guiding multidisciplinary teams to create resilient water and wastewater networks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams on complex water infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical direction across feasibility, concept, and detailed design stages.
• Design and deliver transmission pipeline and pump‑station solutions for large‑scale water networks.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support project outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and enhance the team’s technical capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership).
• Significant experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Advanced hydraulic design expertise for pipelines and pump stations.
