About the role
As the Key Account Manager for Foodstuffs South Island, you will own the delivery of the Foodstuffs South Island account, developing and executing account plans and driving commercial outcomes across New World, Pak'nSave and Four‑Square South Island banners. Reporting to the National Sales Manager – Grocery, you will lead head‑office relationships, work cross‑functionally and mentor a Key Account Executive.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver volume, value, profit, trade spend and market‑share targets for Foodstuffs South Island.
- Develop and execute an account plan aligned with the national grocery strategy.
- Manage day‑to‑day customer relationships and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Drive excellence in new‑product development and promotional execution.
- Implement trading terms and identify performance optimisation opportunities.
- Create and manage the promotional calendar using analysis and insights.
- Collaborate with the South Island field team to ensure in‑store execution.
- Work with Category, Supply Chain and Finance to deliver aligned outcomes.
- Provide performance reporting and actionable insights.
- Lead, coach and develop a Key Account Executive.
Required profile
- Experience in FMCG grocery as a Key Account Manager or high‑performing Key Account Executive.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven P&L delivery.
- Ability to manage customer relationships in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical capability to translate data into actions.
- Cross‑functional collaboration and alignment skills.
- High level of organisation, ownership and attention to detail.
- Experience with Foodstuffs and category‑management tools (NIQ) preferred.
